This is a top notch operation with thorough, friendly and caring people who focus on getting your pet healthy and happy. I have been going to Dr. Mandy and her staff for PT for a competitive retriever who had TPLO surgery. Laser therapy, PT and water treadmill have put her in top notch condition but so has the love and care they have provided. She thoroughly enjoys her treatments - it is the entire package! A great group! 🐾❤️

Scout had a slipped disc back in January and the vet recommended looking into physical therapy, that’s when I found the Healing Arts. Before them my boy needed help to just walk around on his own, now he’s back to his good old self enjoying life and running around again! They were very gentle with my pup and gave very clear instructions to help me work with him at home. The price was really good considering all that you get in the package, and they helped me find some great vitamins and products to help with his pain and mobility in the future too! I highly recommend bringing your fur baby here if they aren’t 100% and the team will do their best to get you there.

The staff here is so caring and thoughtful! The water treadmill, laser therapy, and exercise regimen geared towards Mick helped him recover nicely from his leg surgery. He recently enjoyed a walk on the beach and touring Seaside. He's a happy pup!

We cannot sing enough praise to Healing Arts Animal Care. Our 14 year old dog, Finn, suffered a traumatic injury leaving him immobile in his hind legs. Dr. Mandi and her staff have helped us keep him comfortable, gain strength and maintain a positive outlook on his unfortunate situation. They are kind, caring and respectful of his situation and they genuinely care about him and his unique situation and push to do what is best for him. Finn loves to go to the clinic for his underwater treadmill sessions - while he gets tired fast he has enjoyed pushing himself to use his legs more. Dr. Mandi also plays the “pick up marshmallows” game with him and he loves the special attention. Recently, while he is still making progress, as a team we decided to fit Finn for a wheelchair so that he can enjoy mobility with the time he has left in his life. Dr. Mandi walked us through the process and made us more comfortable with the choice. We love taking Finn here and are so glad we found Healing Arts - they truly have become more like family - they never treat Finn, or us, like business. Thank you guys so very much for all you have done for us. If you need physical therapy for your pet - you would be in great hands here - and your pet would be lucky to have them cared for by this team!

Questions & Answers

Do we need a referral from our current vet or could we set up a visit directly?

Dr. Mandi and her staff are amazing. She takes new patients with or without referrals. I was a new patient w/o a referral.

It is not a big deal if they are scared. The staff is amazing and have dealt with this before. Just let them know and they will work with you. It is an amazing place, you will be happy you went.

Do you make dog wheelchairs?

Healing Arts Animal Care | Aug 17, 2020
Mandi Blackwelder | Feb 18, 2022

We do not manufacture the wheel chairs as this is far more complex that you might think to help and not harm the ergonomics of the dog. We work with Eddie's Wheels to custom make the best wheelchair for your dog. We will also help adjust a wheel chair you already have, but to be honest, much of the time adjustments are "bandaids" because the non-custom cart just doesn't fit the dog properly.

Seriously is acupuncture for cats really possible?

Healing Arts Animal Care | Aug 17, 2021
Mandi Blackwelder | Feb 18, 2022

Oh yes! You'd be surprised now many cats just MELT with acupuncture. For cats the secret is distraction when you place the needle. Usually I just scratch somewhere else while I place the needle in the point (sort of like how the dentist jiggles your cheek as they put in the lidocaine). There are cats that just *aren't* acupuncture cats and I'm the first to say we need something else. Laser is a GREAT tool for cats with arthritis pain. Side note: Cats can also do with underwater treadmill with the right set of circumstances -- believe it or not!

Do you do Acupuncture for dogs?

Healing Arts Animal Care | Aug 17, 2021
Mandi Blackwelder | Feb 18, 2022

Yes. Dr. Mandi (me) has been doing acupuncture since 2002. We are a fear free clinic so we make sure is it comfortable, peaceful and enjoyable for the pet. You can see our photos on social media to see lots of pets with needles in them.

Do you counsel about CBD products for dogs?

Jeffrey Jade | Aug 17, 2020
ryan berg | Aug 17, 2020

They do. I have been giving CBD to my dog from them with amazing results. They sell two different kinds with different strengths and they both work really well. Awesome place, very helpful

Is cold laser the same thing as therapeutic laser?

Jeffrey Jade | Aug 17, 2020
Appointments Referrals & Reports | Aug 17, 2020

Yes. Therapeutic laser is considered to be "cold" laser. (A "hot" laser is one that is used in surgery for cutting and cautery). In truth a "cold" laser is actually warm and toasty as they are being treated.
