This is a cute little spot with great food and a solid wine selection. They also have fresh pastries and bread available at a service counter. I have eaten both dinner and brunch here with great results. They even have great food to go.

We purchased pastries from the bakery and also ate in the restaurant. The pastries were delicious with the exception of the macrons. They were too sweet and weren't nearly as good as you would get in Paris. We bought 10 and didn't eat all of them - and we love macrons. The restaurant was a lovely experience. The staff were relaxed and friendly, totally giving a sense of "settle in and enjoy yourself". The beet/pear salad (which was new to the menu) was a huge hit. I can't tell you the last time I had a salad that I raved about. We had the carpaccio as an appetizer, which was quite nice. My husband had the flatiron steak. He really enjoyed it. I ordered the rack of lamb, which was quite good. Both plates had very generous servings. We didn't have desert. When in San Diego, we will definitely be back.

My Uncle & Aunt took us to the French Restaurant which is really good for Brunch!! So I Tried the Eggs Benedict #2 and my Mom has the French Dip which is really good!! So I recommend going to this place if you are Vacationing in San Diego to have a Brunch. They also do bakery for Cakes & Breads. Ju

I've been here for regular and SDRW. Amazing as always. It's small and comfortable. I like the servers and the atmosphere. Their menu is great. Honestly, when someone asks me where to go for French food, I always recommend this place. I am not quite sure about authenticity but I'd like to think it's similar to what I'd get in France. Highly recommended 👌

Hi Marlee, Thank you for your inquiry. Scandinavian and German pastries are not our specialty, though we might have a strudel in our bakery case from time to time. We just don't have something of that specific nature for Christmas. I recommend Edelweiss Bakery in North County. They should be able to provide exactly what you're looking for at Christmas. Happy holidays! Jodi
Hi Jaci, I've seen bikes parked out there during the day. We don't have a bike rack, but we have a tree people lock them to. The French Gourmet

Hi Trish! We do make pies and tarts, but unfortunately, we don't do mince meat pies or tarts. You can see all of our seasonal offerings (catering and bakery) at https://www.thefrenchgourmet.com/catering/seasonal-holiday-menus/. Thank you! Happy Holidays! Jodi
