I used to donate blood all the time in NYC. I would be in and out the door in 30 minutes (I gush). Been here twice and each time it took 90 minutes. That really isn't much of an incentive to donate any more. Staff was, however, really nice and friendly.

Blood Donations (Whole, Platelets, Plasma), Volunteer Opportunity, and Training Site for CPR/First Aid/AED and BLS cladd8. I can rely on their friendly professional service every visit. Appointments and walk-ins welcome for donations. Consider them first as a way to get involved in our community, you want be disappointed!! Giving is an action word, give blood, money, and time because your gift saves lives.

Hour long wait for a 5 minute donation (yes I had an appointment). Saw staff repeatedly use the same gloves for 2 donors at once (during Covid). Staff did not wear name tags (too many complaints?). Do not recommend this location.

One of the most disorganized donation organizations I've ever worked with! Twice my appointment was cancelled - and no notification of such. Twice I drove myself all the way to the donation location only to find empty parking lots. Twice I moved my afternoon appointments to accommodate them, and twice, they blew it. Do yourself a favor and donate at a much more efficiently run, professionally organized center like BLOODWORKS NORTHWEST. I've given up on the American Red Cross.....

No. Red cross blood does not pay you for blood/plasma/platelet donations.
Paid to donate blood? No, you get snacks, juice and water and satisfaction that you are saving lives.
No. I too was exposed to it while in the Navy, in 1990, I went thru the INH treatment as well. Retired in 2011. I am scheduled to donate tomorrow. I'm a regular platelet donor, and an on my way to 11 gallons. They don't ask anything about TB exposure or military service anymore. Only if you spent time in a European country.
Go to redcross.org and you can designate where the funds are used.
Just call the Red Cross. They will be greatful to get the precious blood at either location.
Yes. They will take your temperature as you walk in the front door too. If you arrive early, don't sit in your hot car like I did. My temperature was slightly elevated & I had to reschedule.
No they dont
Please call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE and they will let you know if you are deferred. Deferral criteria changes constantly based on FDA rules. Thanks for thinking about donating, if you can't then here's a chance to encourage someone that can!
Better to make an appointment.
Most likely...they will welcome Apheresis donors also
