Puroclean perhaps at one time, did good work but not so now. I was very happy with the crew that came to take off the floor and dry it out. They seemed to care. The packers came unannounced and said we had 10 minutes to decide what we could do without for up to 6 months in 2000 sq. feet. They broke our valuable items, lost VERY valuable items and took very little responsibility. Stephanie (the team leader) was reliably .5 to 1 hr. late every visit. She and one of the packers did not know I was standing there and were holding up my valuable items and laughing at them. I don't think Ben (owner) gives any training in value of items or regardless of value, respect for people's things. They lost my tea cup saucers which they claim they never had as there was no photo of the tea cup saucers leaving the house. True, but there was also no photo of the tea cups leaving the house. They broke a large ceramic bowl and tried to hide it under packing material (Stephanie admitted this was the case). They packed delicate china with cast iron pots on top. We did not see this until unpack. They chipped a wooden chair and they had it repaired. They did cover some lost/broken items but not the irreplaceable ones. If you are forced to use Puroclean take photos/video of everything leaving your home and good luck.

PuroClean was easily our best choice for an emergency situation we dealt with in our kitchen. They were quick to respond, didn’t hesitate to explain the process as well as provide reasonable options for scheduling. Michael led a team of phenomenal craftsmen who not only exceeded our expectation, but in our current world of COVID-19 all of them were absolutely a pleasure to work with. Every step of the process was as painless as possible and the amount of talent Michael has under his wing should earn him the reputation of being among the best in the industry. PuroClean should be proud of the services provided by that team, they represent the company in its best light. Highly recommend them for any services PuroClean operates with.

These guys saved us in a terrible situation. We had what we thought was some relatively contained water damage to our crawl space from a burst pipe. Insurance sent out a different company who gave us a quote which we felt was high. We found Puroclean on the internet and they came out that same afternoon. They were able to find much more extensive damage than we realized and with a very thorough walk through. They helped us avoid having issues down the road while also making sure the insurance claim took care of everything. They were prompt and started the cleanup that next day. They were always very communicative and professional. Ethan was our project manager and he was fantastic in getting the project done. The final result was a dry house with no issues. We feel very confident in there work. I would definitely recommend their services.

Ben, Brian and crew rebuilt our house after our attic fire destroyed our roof. They did a good job, showed up when they said they would, and their crews were polite and responsive. They were more than tolerant of our temperamental German Shepherd, Margret. We highly recommend Hillsboro PuroClean to anyone in a situation similar to ours.

Questions & Answers

How do I prevent mold growth in my home?

The key to preventing mold growth is moisture control. There are many ways to achieve this including repairing leaks in your home—from walls, roof, gutters, plumbing pipes, etc., keeping indoor humidity at about 30-50%, ventilating appliances that generate moisture, getting your HVAC system inspected annually, cleaning gutters, and using materials such as mold-resistant paint.

Do I really need professional cleanup if the fire was small?

In most losses, cleaning the soot and smoke is the toughest part. Moreover, even small fires can cause major damage within minutes and leave lingering odors if not cleaned up properly. If you don’t act within a day or two of the fire, soot and smoke can leave permanent damage. Professionals have the tools and know-how to restore your home as quickly as possible and mitigate the loss.

How do certified technicians typically handle water damage?

The first thing professionals do is remove damaged materials that will either be restored or discarded. Materials include baseboards, insulation, furniture, carpeting, upholstery, carpet padding, fragile woods, drywall, and more. After the damaged items are removed, the technicians begin drying out the water and disinfecting the areas. Specialized tools like air movers and dehumidifiers are typically involved in the drying process. Professionals will also handle mold damage in the restoration process. Mold-infected surfaces will be disinfected and restored as quickly as possible to prevent it from spreading.
