Although it’s right off the freeway, it feels tucked away in the woods. Plenty of sites and they’re not too close together. All of them within walking distance of the river. Only downside is the price! Very very clean restrooms and well kept sites. Definitely recommended if you need a place to stay on your road trip!

Signage is poor. The park is accessible only if you are traveling west bound and you must take the exit for the Rest Stop. Access to the Camp Ground at the end of the Rest Stop parking. There is pavement all the way including the perimeter roads. Check in was self registration. Find an empty site that has not been reserved. Fill out the form and drop in the box. Cash or Credit card works. The rules are fairly basic. Be aware; out of state visitors are penalized by having to pay more than residents. Our site, B15, was a back in that was just long enough for our Coach and Towed. Services (30 amp, water and sewer) were to the left side. Distancing is very poor for an urban park. Each site has a table and most have a fire pit. Our site was flat but sloped to the front. Overall the park was pretty and well manicured. There is no included or pay for use internet. Our Verizon Mifi worked well. We did find plenty OTA TV. Satellite might be difficult because of the trees if you don’t have a portable dish. We did not use the washrooms or pay showers but we checked and found them clean. There is a pathway that runs through the camp ground but no other trails or walks are nearby. There is no access to the river. Clearly, this is not a destination park. It is mostly an overnightrer. We watched it get busier as the evening came. There are no stores or services within easy walking distance. If you are bothered by traffic or train noise, then perhaps this park is not for you. We found this park to be a well run rural RV park. We paid $38.00 per night and we feel we received fair value. We will be back if in the area again.

Nice little park. Only accessible from one direction. Right next to the freeway on one side and train tracks on the other so you ether have road noise or train noise. Next to the Columbia River but there isn't any water access. Park is clean and well kept. Lots of things to do within a 30 min drive.

Not that we saw, but you can buy ice and firewood. We got propane at the Hood River Walmart.
When you pull up to the pay station there's a couple right there on the left that's 1st come 1st serve the rest are my reservation
I just spent the last 6 days at Memaloose. Right now there is a ban on campfires and even using a barbecue grill. When there is no ban on burning, there is firewood for sale. The campground hosts manage the firewood sales.
Lots of grass area to bring your own outdoor yard games - bochi ball, croquet, badminton, etc... Playground not very big. Best place to drive to play in the water is at Hood River. Nice protected area from watercrafts. Lots of great food, too.
If the guard shack is closed, there is a place just beyond shack where you can pay, if you haven't already. Park Rangers will confirm each site the next morning. We accidently paid twice and got our refund back first thing the next morning. Very nice and helpful staff.
Sure can w/reservations
You can go through the Salem parks and rec office and supply them with DD214, AND get a pass .. good for two years..
