I made an online purchase last summer and was very excited to receive my rhizomes. I decided to follow the recommendation and plant them in fall. Out of he handful purchases 1 iris was produced. This is very disappointing as I have been gifted rhizomes in the past which have taken off like weeds here in Oregon. These starts were not inexpensive and overall I am super bummed.

This place is the top seller of iris in the nation. Been around for 95 years. It's an absolutely beautiful garden and you must see it in person to really appreciate the beauty.

Great place, but was not in full bloom yet. Last year (2021) came here at Memorial day weekend and most irises were part bloom. This year came 2 weeks earlier, but because of colder spring the bloom is late. If somebody want to go - next week should be perfect

This Garden, is the most exquisite Iris garden, that I have ever been to. It isn't just Iris either. I took far too many photos to post, in this review & it was hard not to take even more. At times, I just sat in awe, on one of the benches & listened to all the Songbirds. There were more variations, colors, types, sizes & shapes of flowers, plants, bushes, Iris & trees in this Garden, then could be fully experienced, in the time alloted to us, on our tickets. This is a magical place, that must be witnessed by all folks, regardless of age!

Go to their website and I believe you can request a physical catalog. Also you can look at their online catalog on their website. Iris are beautiful.
They have extended till June 1st. Check out their Facebook page.
Go early before everyone gets there. I went with my kids around 10:30am and it wasn't very full yet but by 11-ish and definitely noon there were many more people!
Yes. We allow dogs in the gardens so long as they are on leash and well behaved. Naturally, please clean up after your pets. Thank you! We look forward to seeing you at the gardens.
Sorry, we do not grow that variety. We have many other beautiful though. :-) Best of luck!
Things are blooming late, but last week things were pretty ready to bloom according to the staff and what I saw as well
Right now is planting season and shipping season Bloom season is may
Hello. We recommend a low-Nitrogen fertilizer, for example a 6-10-10 (where the numbers represent the nutrients: Nitrogen-Phosphate-Soluble Potash). Bone meal and Super Phosphate are also good options for fertilizing. We recommend a light application of fertilizer about the time that tulips are blooming in your area (which is approx. 1 month prior to the start of iris bloom season). We carry a 1-pound bag of specially-formulated iris fertilizer on our website. Let us know if we can be of further assistance.
Best to contact Schreiner's directly for such specific information
There's an entrance fee of $5 at the gate. That gives you access to everything (gardens, flower show, gift shop, plant sale, etc.) other than individual vendors.
One dozen iris stems will be $8 this year during our open house on the farm May 10-May 31.
Hello. Many of our coastal customers have great success with their bearded iris. They do stake the stems of the tall varieties, however, due to the windy conditions. So long as the soil drains well and has a fairly neutral pH, and the bed receives at least six hours of direct sun per day (in other words, not a shady area), any type of bearded or beardless iris will do well.
Hello. The 2019 dates of our Iris Bloom Season Open House will be May 11 to May 31.
Hello. Our iris bloom season open house runs the Friday before Mother's Day through May 31st. The display gardens are open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The city of Keizer, Oregon has their annual Keizer Iris Festival always on the 3rd weekend in May (festivities begin on the Thursday of that week). Check with the Keizer Chamber of Commerce for more details on the official Iris Festival. Let us know if we can be of further assistance.
The rhizomes should be removed from all packing material and placed in a cool, dry location. Ideally they should be planted a minimum of six weeks prior to the first hard frost in your area in order to become established before winter.
Yes, when used per the manufacturer's instructions, liquid fish fertilizer can be safe for Iris.
The bloom is coming along very nicely. We anticipate this week and into next week will be peak, with plenty of blooms left for Memorial Day Weekend. Naturally, it all depends on Mother Nature!
We recommend cutting off the spring bloom stalk at the base. Apply low-nitrogen fertilizer about one month after spring bloom has finished. Water deeply once every 10 days to 2 weeks if you have no rain.
Hello. We do not allow drones at all at the gardens. Thank you for your understanding in this matter. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance. Kind regards.
There's only a $5 parking fee with the option for a season parking pass for $10, good until the end of May.
We recommend fertilizing. Apply a low-Nitrogen fertilizer about one month prior to bloom (about the time the tulips are blooming in your neighborhood) and about one month after bloom. You might also wish to have the pH level of your soil checked. Iris like a pH level of 6.8 (slightly acidic).
