The corporate management isn't great, but the staff? They're angels. They truly are. One staff member who transferred from residential to memory care would sit with my grandma and I for thirty minutes, sharing stories and holding my grandma's hand. One staff member sat with my grandmother for over an hour to make sure she ate. The kitchen staff ran out to the store to get fruit cups just for my grandma, because she decided that's what she was okay eating that day. One staff member would get jugs of diet coke for her to drink every day from the kitchen. They knew us by name, every one of us that came to visit my grandma. On the residential side, they would sit with her and look at al the photos of her grandchildren for longer than they probably should've. The manager drove my grandma to her medical appointments personally ahen transportation couldnt be arranged. On the memory care side, one of the managers missed a family funeral because MY grandmother was dying. She's the same person who made sure every staff member read the letter I wrote introducing my grandma so they would know who she was. They would stop us in the hallways, asking after her if they weren't working with her. They'd bring her treats and gifts and share their life stories. If you bring your family to live here, don't rely on corporate to have it fully staffed, don't think that they'll have enough people to have everyone fully looked after all the time, don't expect the food to be perfect or the services to be on time every day. But rely on the people o le there, making a difference in the lives of those you love. They're truly special people.

The memory care director at Bonaventure of Gresham is distant, uncaring, disrespectful, unapproachable and unprofessional, and I never saw her engage with any of the residents. She is completely lacking any customer service education or recognizes that we are the paying customer. I asked her to find an embroidered towel that belonged to my Dad who has passed and the response was that she was sorry I had lost it and hoped that I find it. It was lost at Bonaventure. The laundry is constantly mixed up and it was disappointing to see my Mom wearing other residents clothes or see other residents wearing her clothes. I asked for a new set of embroidered towels but there is no response. With memory care you try to have items that your loved ones will recognize or give them comfort. My Mom took great pride in the towels she had made for her and my Dad and I am sad that I only have one and they cannot find the other and then have the gall to imply that I am the one that lost it. I am sorry they have treated me with such disrespect and their actions are so hurtful at a time in life when you are dealing with a loved one with dementia. I agree with the other 1 star review, if you love your loved ones, don't send them here. They will not get the care, compassion or attention they deserve. There is so much more to tell.....

A very unhappy experience with the directors of memory care. When I asked for assistance in moving things out of the room, I was refused the use of boxes, a cart, or a person. No compassion...no one from the staff reached out to me during the three weeks of hospitalization until his death.

After researching most of the retirement communities in Gresham, I moved my parents into Bonaventure about a year and a half ago. I initially chose Bonaventure because it was a beautiful, new campus, and because I really liked and trusted their wonderful sales director, Meredith. As a daughter, I had a solid peace in my heart that my folks would be safe and happy living there. Fast forward a year and a half, and the staff at Bonaventure have truly become FAMILY. They have not only treated my folks with dignity and respect, they have loved on them as if they were their very own grandparents. And really, what more could a daughter ask for?🙂 Of course, the food is great, the daily activity choices offered are excellent, the housekeeping services are top-notch, etc, etc. But what really sets Bonaventure apart is how well they genuinely love their residents. And their resident's families! My parents (and I) have made so many wonderful friends, and we have been cared for with more love than I could ever have hoped for. The staff and residents of Bonaventure are truly a family. And they have become MY family. 🙂 If you're looking for a retirement community for someone you love, you really need to take a tour of Bonaventure. I could not recommend them more highly! 🙂 Gratefully, Cynthia Wall
