Dr. Skourtis is amazing! She takes the time to explain everything and allows lots of questions. She gives realistic expectations (mine results were BETTER than the expectation). I never felt rushed and my results are perfect!

The experience I had with Dr. Skourtis was nothing less than amazing! From the consultation through post-op appointments I felt very comfortable and informed of my procedure. Dr. Skourtis' disposition and genuine care of her patients is not something I find often! I've already told friends to go see this woman!

UPDATE: from my last review from June this year - I decided to follow up with Dr. Skourtis' courteous suggestion and contacted her and we spoke and met up for a consultation regarding the keloids on my breasts. I was emotional and Dr. Skourtis was very kind and sympathetic to where I was coming from. Dr. Skourtis further gave me information about ways to treat it and I opted get steroid injections to help flatten the scars and after a month - the results were astounding. My scars flatten and I felt comfortable looking in the mirror and not seeing what caused my insecurities. Thank you Dr. Skourtis for being so kind and patient while I spoke with you over the phone and in person and very glad to have taken the time to talk about things. My trust with you is fully restored and renewed.

Dr. Skourtis is an expert in the human face! Her skill with Botox and fillers is amazing. I always get tons of compliments on how great I look after I go see her. There is such a difference when you go see a reconstructive surgeon instead of an aesthetician or a nurse. This is the best value for your money - the price and professionalism are outstanding. I cannot recommend her more highly.

Questions & Answers

I have lost over 100 lbs over the years. I have about 50 more I want to lose and will be there this year. I'm wondering if you would consult with me (with MD referral) about what can be done with the hang down I have?

First and foremost, congratulations on your successful weight loss! I'm sure you have put a lot of hard work into it, and you should be very proud of yourself. It would be my pleasure to see you for a consultation, and we can discuss the options you have to address the loose skin that can result from a significant weight loss. In many cases, insurance may cover the skin reduction procedure if the loose skin has resulted in problems like rashes, infections, skin breakdown, back pain, or other symptoms. Typically, I advise that the best time for this type of procedure is once you have reached your weight goal or plateau, and have maintained a stable weight for at least 6 months. Even though you're continuing to lose weight, a consultation earlier in your weight loss journey can give you a good idea what to expect once you reach your goal. Please feel free to contact us to set up a consultation, and we look forward to meeting you. -Dr. S

Hello I was wondering if you do nose surgery

Mia E. Skourtis, M.D. | Aug 18, 2018

Hello, Diego. Thank you for your question. I perform some types of external nose surgery, but patients who are interested in cosmetic rhinoplasty or functional septoplasty (straightening the nasal septum to improve beeathing) are referred to my colleagues who specialize almost entirely in nasal surgery. Please feel free to contact my office directly if there are any questions I can answer for you. I would be happy to answer any specific questions you might have.

Do you do otoplasty? In your office?

Arabelle and Jim Cash | Mar 20, 2022
Mia E. Skourtis, M.D. | Mar 20, 2022

Hello, and thank you for your question. As you know, otoplasty is an outpatient surgical procedure that corrects unfavorable shape or projection of the ears. I do perform otoplasty, and because of the precision and control required to achieve a favorable and symmetric correction, I prefer to schedule this procedure in the operating room rather than in the office setting, in almost all cases. Please feel free to contact my office, and we will be happy to answer any specific questions you may have, or to schedule a consultation to meet in person! Have a wonderful day.

Do you deep plane neck and facial reconstruction?

Marguerite Benoit | Aug 17, 2021
Mia E. Skourtis, M.D. | Aug 17, 2021

Thank you very much for contacting us with your question. There are various techniques and approaches used in facial/neck cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. I do perform facial/neck cosmetic and reconstructive surgery as a regular part of my practice, but based on the particular risks and benefits of the deep plane approach, I do not personally use that technique. While I'm not certain if there are local surgeons who regularly use the deep plane approach, we invite you to contact us if we can be of help in locating a board certified plastic surgeon with particular expertise in that technique. All the best to you!

How much is a consultation?

Mia E. Skourtis, M.D. | Aug 18, 2019

Thank you for your question, Carolyn. We are pleased to offer Complimentary Cosmetic Surgery Consultations. Consultations for surgery that may be covered by your medical insurance are billed through your medical insurance, and I do participate in most major medical insurance plans.

I was in an accident 4 yrs ago and they put metal plates in my forehead. Are you able to remove them? They were suppose to come out 5 months after the fact but they stopped helping me due to insurance reasons... so now I’m stuck with it
