Took a Thanksgiving Day Morning Hike on #LasRamblasTrail #sanjuancapistrano I branched off the trail and took other trails. Not the best trail system I’ve ever hiked, but it was a nice hike nonetheless. There are some great panoramic views of San Clemente and Dana Point from the some other the ridges.

It's so beautiful. It's one of my favorite places for hiking. can see a very peaceful village and fancy ocean while hiking

Beautiful view overlooking the beach from the flagpole. Also, when you start up your first hill, turn around for another beautiful view of the hill towards a sneak peek of the ocean. Family friendly, wide trail.

We hiked there during the week of Christmas. It's about 6 miles trail, there are some shortcuts to do shorter trails. There is a short segment of the trail go to residential area. The view of the valley is nice. Around this time, there is pretty much grayed out and no shading.

Questions & Answers

Are dogs allowed

Yes; technically, they're supposed to be on a leash, but not everyone follows that particular rule! (I have seen coyotes, rattlesnakes, & scorpions up there, so you may want to keep your dog on a leash for that reason)

Is this hiking trail open today and this Thanksgiving weekend after the heavy rain?

The trails are open all the time! After it rains, when it gets muddy, be careful on the steep hills; it's easy to slip & slide your way to the bottom!

How long is the trail?

Depends on the way you go. Patriot trail is a little over 4 miles return (flag and back), but I've done 10 + miles by hitting different trails there
