Great hike and not too challenging for a reasonably fit person. The trail can get busy and crowded. Parts of the trails are slidey due to erosion, so wear decent shoes. The view is worth the effort.

This is an ideal early morning hiking spot. It’s got that good challenge as it’s a good elevation gain, but also one with a rewarding view at the top. Some tarantula spiders out there - most prolly snakes too but since there is heavy foot traffic, the latter is very infrequent.

Easy/moderate out and back trail. 3 miles total. First half uphill to peak, all down hill going back. Bathrooms and water fountain at trailhead. Trash cans at peak. There is almost no sun cover the entire hike which makes it not ideal for dogs. Parking lot at trailhead and additional street parking nearby. Good 360° views of SD from top.
