We have loved our year at The Gossamer. Here are just a few reasons why: - Wonderful view on all sides of the building - The gym is amazing with an incredible view - Maintenance is friendly and reliable. Never had to wait more than an hour or two to get something fixed. - Close to fun restaurants and bars. Highly recommend Teardrop for amazing cocktails. - Neighbors were quiet and respectful, will miss the ones we have gotten to know. - Leasing office is friendly and helpful. - Our apartment has all the modern finishes we were looking for. Sleek design, but still cozy. Will miss the bathroom mirror light and closet space. - Rooftop lounge and patio are great amenities and perfect for hosting friends + family. - The building was offering an amazing rent special when we moved in (during covid) and continues to offer competitive leases for the area. Here are some of the things we didn't love: - The location is in a charming part of the Pearl. However, due to its proximity to downtown, you can still feel the effects of Portland's current civic crises. We never had any major safety concerns. The building would do great by hiring a doorman. - Pets have been causing some unwanted scents both outside and in common areas, but the building has been actively cleaning and taking scent control measures (air filters in elevators, wood chips on the sidewalk, etc.) If we weren't so excited to upsize to a more residential neighborhood, we would be happy to renew our lease here. We will miss The Goss!

Update: June 2022 For my own personal unit I must say it is very quiet, I actually don't hear any neighbors. They have a cleaning company cleaning. I never had an issue reporting any maintenance. The leasing agent is especially very sweet. Love the building, layouts, color schemes and deep baths. Every unit available was beautiful and had all the amenities that tops most apartments in the Pearl. I haven't even moved in yet and I am very excited for my new apartment! The leasing agent was quite the pleasure, professional and friendly and you can tell they want you to call this home.

I was a resident with the Gossamer for a year. Upon first walk through I noticed there 500 sq ft apartment definitely only had 400 sq ft of usable space. But the amenities and move in deal made up for that, so I moved in. Right away I noticed things were not as originally described. The float pod never opened, the sauna was always broken, and a few irresponsible dog owners caused them to close the dog lounge, the main reason why I picked this building over one with more room and better neighborhood. The neighborhood is dangerous straight up. I walked my dog after dark with a cain. I was followed home several times and with nobody at the security desk risked them just following me in the building. Human fecies and needles in the street and often vomit in the communal areas after long weekends.Within my time there I witnessed three employees quit... Never a good sign. End of lease I brought up these frustrations and more and was met with side stepping and excuses. Basically they want to be a hotel with longer stays so when you leave they can raise the rent. I was looking for a community and a safe home, I did not find this at The Gossamer.

We are in the process of moving in and do not current live here, but I already feel like this place deserves a 5/5! The staff and leasing office is so helpful, we’ve specifically been helped by Harley & he has answered my fiancé and I’s many questions (even with the crazy amount of people moving in!). We can’t wait to make the gossamer home. The building is beautiful and every unit we toured was great! The location is prime as well
