I had a smooth experience moving our belongings thanks to PODS. Customer service was easy to work with in terms of scheduling pickup and delivery of the pod, and Nick (driver for picking up the pod at our destination; I don't remember getting the name of the other drivers who helped) was super friendly. This has been a stressful move but PODS made some of the aspects easier to work with, and I would happily consider using PODS again for future long-distance moves.

Overall, our experience with the Portland Pods team was 5 stars! They were responsive, super friendly during drop off and pick up (Nick was our driver), and helped us open the pods, even though the doors were stuck from items shifting in the pod. We cannot say the same of the Atlanta crew — it was a bit of a nightmare not knowing if our things were ever going to show. We received a call that something was “wrong with our locks and doors of the pods” after they had been picked up in Atlanta, and that we would have to go to the Portland pods location to remedy the situation before drop off. We called Pods customer service multiple times to clarify what the problem was, and no one could give us a clear answer. We were left wondering if they would even arrive, or if the original locks would still be in tact. Strangely enough, they made it to Maine no problem with the locks still intact. It was unnecessarily stressful. Biggest comment about pods — your local teams seem to be great, but your customer service lacks connectivity with those local teams! Customer service in general needs improvement.

Customer service was incredible, unfortunately I don’t remember who helped with the drop off and pick up date, but he was kind and took the time to explain every step. Scott dropped the POD off and he was so kind, and professional! Cory picked the POD up and the same from him, very kind! The whole experience has been very smooth and definitely has made moving to a different state a lot easier! Can’t wait to get to my new home and the POD to arrive! Thank you gentlemen!

DO NOT RENT THESE PODS!!! Especially not from the South Portland, Maine office! It’s been such a horrible experience!!!!! First off they lied about the monthly charges….it was double what they said it would be. After 9 months of paying way too much….we decided to have the pod dropped off at another storage unit, and unload the pod into the new storage unit. We told them where it needed to be placed and that it had to be picked up the next day (on a recorded line). They said they would call 30 minutes prior to the delivery so we could meet them there…to make sure it was delivered in the right spot. They never called! They dropped off the pod 2 rows away!!!! We didn’t even know they had dropped it off!! The owner of the new storage unit called us to let us know the pod was dropped off in a rental spot in a parking lot!!!! How would an elderly client (or anyone) be able to unload a pod and lug a whole house through a parking lot and rows of storage lockers?!?! We called and asked for them to come back and put it where they were told to put it….we were on the phone for over 40 minutes with a woman working from home with her children in the background…..and she couldn’t speak very clear English! We were told they would not be able to move the pod for 7 days!!!! Then would be charged another $90.00!! We had to hire 3 workers to come unload the pod and lug it across a parking lot to the new storage unit!! It’s now been 8 days and the Pod company still has not shown up to PICK UP THE POD!! The new storage facility said the pod could only be there 24 hours or we would be charged a storage fee for each day!! This pod company put the pod in a marked rental space!!! Now there is daily charge accruing because they will not pick up the pod!!! This company is the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with! They have no idea how to run a business!!! They do a great job taking your money…..but there is no service or follow through whatsoever! This has been such a terrible waste of money and such a horrible experience! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE …do yourself a favor and save your money DO NOT RENT THESE PODS!

I had POD there for quite a while. If you are looking for access to a POD that you have it is 8 am -3pm. You have to call or use the online chat function to set it up. If you are looking to get a POD you need to call or go online. The S. Portland site is only a storage facility.
Hi, Gordon! You have the flexibility to use the container for as little or as long as you need it; however, the rental cost is a monthly rate and isn't prorated.
