The Society Hotel - Portland

This truly isn’t your average hotel experience. The building is gorgeous, the rooms clean and beds extremely comfortable, the staff was super friendly and helpful, the rooftop deck is rad, and all this for an unbeatable price. The neighborhood obviously won’t make everyone feel super comfortable but we found that the houseless people in the neighborhood are really just minding their own business and we felt very safe walking around during the day and chose not to go out walking after dark. The Parking garage that the society hotel recommended felt super safe and pulling up to the 15 minute loading zone made checking in and out feel super easy and stress-free. Over all, I do highly recommend!

Super clean, friendly staff, rooms were perfect and amazing as far as my expectations of a hostel go. Rooftop patio was a major highlight. Bathrooms were exceptionally clean; never busy, and are 1 person at a time only so that was really nice for privacy. Area is definitely a little bit rough and it takes a few blocks to get out into the cleaner neighborhoods. But, it was very convenient for exploring downtown and the super cool pearl district. We walked everywhere which was great. If I find myself in Portland again and am on a budget, I’d stay here again.

Really fantastic place to stay. Staff is always welcoming and they have a great cafe. I always stay in the bunk room and have n problems getting sleep. Even during the day hours. I come to Portland for business trips and this is a really good way for me to get a place to sleep, bath and eat because I don’t have time for anything else. I get to have the occasional good conversation along with my drink. There is plenty of parking options available that are not to pricey once you learn how to use them correctly.

My first hostel hotel experience and it was surprisingly pleasant! The rooftop was beautiful and cold. The lobby was comfy and warm. The drinks were all amazing. I tried different local wines, had some tea, and grabbed a cup of coffee the morning before my departure. It was all short, sweet, and comfortable. I’ll be visiting Portland more and hope to get a room there again. Definitely 10/10.
