Great little park with trains you can enter and walk around. Kid safe as well

Good historic spot right off 66
No Passports Needed
As usual I had an itinerary and of course off the beaten path the mindset is " SQUIRREL " especially if we see something cool as we are getting closer to our destination. This particular day was snow storms, rain, and trains. How can one go wrong with checking that out. Parking is on the street as you walk up to the park. There are a couple of locomotives that are great for photo ops plus gazebos that have the history of the town listed. The first set of tourists came thru in September 17, 1901 by train. This city was established in 1881 and is considered the Gateway to the Grand Canyon. The park rests on the famous Route 66. However this city was the last town to be bypassed on Route 66 as of October 13, 1984. Would def recommend - this city feels like your taking a walk in time as there is so much history lurking on every corner here.

Fun little place

No cost. It is a simple roadside park on the north side of westbound old Route 66. There are no facilities, but it is within walking distance of several bars and restaurants.
