I had a very nice experience with United Access in NE Portland. They really care about you as a person, rather than simply a point of sale--this is NOT a car dealership. Yes, you will pay more than buying an ADA van from a private party, but in return you will get the assurance from Jesse and Arlene that the van you buy works well, and if any issue comes up they WILL resolve them. They are good, honest folks who earned the money I paid for my van, and the modest profit they made when I sold the van back to them after my wife passed. Renting a wheelchair van from United Access was one of the best rental experiences I've had for any type of vehicle. Amber was friendly and helpful and provided a comprehensive walk-through of the van's accessibility and special safety features, as well as how to avoid accidental damage unique to this type of van. She thoughtfully had the front passenger seat removed so that my mom could ride up front in her power chair. She was carefully following COVID precautions, which together with the sparkling-clean van made me feel confident it would be a safe ride for my 82-year-old mom. The van itself was comfortable and easy to operate. Contactless return was a breeze. To top it off, the cost was very reasonable. We'll definitely be back if we need an accessible rental again, and we happily recommended United Access!
