Lots of options from easy to moderate. Watch out for bikers. Bring water. Varied terrain but tends to get hot by midday. Trails have benefitted from a covidian upgrade

Run, Walk, Ride, Trot. Any way you take this trail, you'll love the scenery and quality of the path.

Great trail. Our entire group was able to do it and everything was well kept and maintained

We walked thr south trail first and ran into a rattlesnake, so we turned around and walked the north trail that goes to Lake Hodges next and ran into another rattlesnake. It's that time of season again, so be mindful! Thank goodness for the work crew who gave our new friend Mark a stick to help move the one snake.

Questions & Answers

Hi David, Yes there are miles and miles of mountain bike trails that this trail head can lead you to. There are difficult sections, but nothing too bad. My 8 year old was able to ride most of them, having to walk just a few short sections. These trails connect to the Lake Hodges trails to the east. If you go west, there are relatively flat sections of singletrack for a mile or two until you come to a bunch of switchbacks that climb up the ridge, then antother set that descend into a valley, then yet another set that climb back up. The trail eventually dumps you out on Artesian road. I usually ride west on Artesian Road, downhill, and make a left at the bottom into the Lusardi Creek Preserve area. While there arent lots of options for multiple trails here, I really like the area, you can ride for a long time, and its difficult to get lost since you need to take the same trail back. I hope that all helps! Have a great ride!

Guys....why this park has opening and closing hours? It is gated park? Anyone knows if it is open on public holidays such as labour day?
