I've sold here several times and am happy with the compensation (better than self-selling and less hasle). Then I donate the rest. I also enjoy shopping here, they have good quality so a bit more expensive than thrifting but cheaper than brand new. Also, the staff has always been friendly:)

My sister and I went here for the first time to shop for a 1.5yr boy, a newborn girl waiting to come out and a 7 month old. We had so much fun, the place was fairly spacious and clean. There was SO much stock. So many things to choose from too! Next time I need to ask how the clearance works because I was a bit confused at how that was organized. I got 10 onesies for 10 dollars and I could have kept going - I didn’t even sort through everything. I had to stop myself at what I needed. 1.50 for cat and jack brand summer tank tops “bro tanks” - that’s an amazing deal and it’s my favorite brand for boys! A whole pack of variety headbands - some never used for 4.50. I added photos of my little haul. All the onesies ended up being $1 each - clearance pants were 1.25 each. (Not shown in photos). Carts are provided for your little one to take a ride FYI. No public restroom FYI. I do not understand how previous reviewers say “you pay full price here” lol!!! Where are they shopping?? Clothes are in excellent condition - and to top it off ... every single worker I came in contact with was SO kind, helpful and funny. Lastly - if anyone is familiar with Platos Closet - it is very similar to that. These stores usually buy at a lower rate - and of course will charge enough to make a profit & trying to still make good value for the customer. I honestly feel they do a good job at that. Don’t expect to pay garage sale prices when it’s a business - but for sure expect some great deals on lightly or unused clothing and accessories - similar and sometimes better than what you can find new in retail. (I’m an avid Target shopper - sometimes you can get brand new items as low as .60 - but I’m talking ... rare. It’s usually closer to the 2.50+ mark. With items “on sale” still hitting the $6-12 range based on brand, and how prettied up the item is (frills, detailed prints, thicker fabric) similar goes for Walmart. For sellers - just like at Platos... be prepared to have your goods fairly scrutinized. They have to do intake based on what’s needed and what’s trending. Just because it has tags doesn’t mean they want to buy it from you. Platos Closet has an entire handout explaining how this process works for second hand buy/sell practice. (& it changes constantly - one day they could take one thing - the next week they won’t. Employees are trained to have judgement calls but they aren’t perfect.) Know what you are doing before you expect $$ from a business. Fair business & better on the environment to buy used. I’m totally coming back and came here to say you should too. They deserve your business - but keep your expectations reasonable. Thank you Once Upon a Child - you facilitated a fun sister date - that produced a great haul of baby clothes! This is %100 my own personal words, the business doesn’t even know I had an intention to leave a review. I just truly believe that if I love a place - to say it because other moms and dads may be looking for what they provide and be missing out.

I’ve read all the reviews an I’ve been here myself many times, but not in many years. I brought some clothes in I no longer wanted to hold onto anymore an clear some storage space of good quality baby items, I was very happy with what the offered me for the items, I didn’t feel it was unfair pricing at all, it wasn’t the lady I was greeted with but a man seemed to be the manager? He was very nice and helped out as well as the other two women working. I have some more items I’ll be bringing in an do recommend.

The first time in, I had a good selling experience and found a bunch of cute stuff to buy as well, but it has been downhill from there. They have a good selection and mostly high quality stuff, so the buying experience is always fine, but when it comes to selling anything, the manager (?) is SO RUDE and condescending. She is mostly focused on not paying attention to you while she is telling you that nothing you brought in will suit them. I felt completely put-off and have gone elsewhere to sell my clothing and will continue to do so for as long as she is employed there. All the others employees have been very kind and I even had one explain to me, while helping me take my unwanted items to my car, that I had good stuff, it just wasn't what was in demand at the moment. Perfectly reasonable and it did not make me feel 2 feet small.

Do you buy baby cloths

Antonio Quintero | Aug 18, 2018
Kathy Hadley | Aug 18, 2018

Yes they do, & you get cash that day for what they want. They get a lot of the smaller sizes, so has to be in really good shape if it's newborn to like 18 months. They also buy shoes, toys, books, baby gear, coats, seasonal stuff like Halloween costumes, etc.
