We are so fortunate to have Lake Champlain Ferries Company. In addition to being the nicest possible way to get across the lake, everyone in their King Street Dock offices was pleasant and very helpful during my recent visit there.

GPS took us to an unexpected ferry ride, turned out to be nicer than I expected. 45 minutes total waiting for the ferry and the loading and unloading. Nice break from driving.

The boat is The Adirondacks, a beautiful 106 year old ferry (1913) in perfect shape. A wonderful ride and I especially loved the crew.

Taking the N.Y. - Burlington ferry is a must do in my book. It's a great way to see the lake while travelling to a different location. Seeing from the water gives you a different perspective. After you park your car you can go upstairs and sit inside or wander around the deck. Great views of the high peaks.

According to thebeir website: The Burlington – Port Kent crossing will be opening on June 14, 2018! The Charlotte – Essex and Grand Isle – Plattsburgh crossings are open now.

Depending on what one you take the one that is an hour one way is 30 plus each person in the vehicle... The one further up is 15 min ride an only 15 plus each person in the vehicle
