Update: after almost 3 years of not visiting Pepino's, I had the pleasure to buy some food this past weekend. I'm glad I went back, because they have kept the same quality consistently over the past 9 years. I love it, and I wanted to publicly congratulate them for that! Well done, Pepino's!

The food is decent but it's not worth the price. The service is akin to a restaurant trying to make a joke of themselves. I can't believe how long we waited for four items, 60+ minute wait and everyone working seemed like they wanted to off themselves. Seriously do not give this place your money if you have other options, I recommend Ole Frijole in NE Portland if you want a good Mexican place.

Charming restaurant. Very friendly. Casual and relaxed. No table service, but that explains the excellent prices. Great food. Good salsa bar. Some food items are not served quite as warm as would be preferred.

More like 3.5 stars. Generous portions, reasonable prices. While not the best Mexican food I’ve ever had, it hits the spot. I liked the amount of fresh toppings on my pescado taco made it was pretty tasty. The shrimp taco was a little overwhelmed by drowning in chipotle mayo. Guacamole and chips were decent.
