I called them and asked to find out what i needed to know. They are very nice and do answer there phones. Just google edwardsville dmv and that will give there direct number
You dont need to make an appointment how ever there will be a line. I do know that since you are getting an Illinois license that you have to take the written test but not sure on the driving test.
