Some people spend several hours there. They have several things to do and to see including some historical movies. I always plan to stay several hours, and i rarely see the same things. My kids like the museum artifacts. And i like the documentaries.
Depends. When I go, I usually go with family or friends of my same faith (I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, sometimes known as the "Mormons"). Regardless of who you are and who you take, you can have missionaries give you a tour, visit the visitors center, then go to a nearby mall. Fortunately there's no set minimum or maximum as far as time is concerned.
Completely depends on what you want to see and do. Some common options include: - Walk the temple grounds - get additional insights into church teachings and doctrine in the north and south visitors center. - listen to choir music provided by local choir groups at the tabernacle. - get a view of down town salt lake city from the 26th floor of the church office building -tour the conference center across the street, - your the lion house (early home of Brigham Young) - have lunch. 3 on site options: the lion house pantry in the basement of the lion house. The nauvoo cafe, on the main floor of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building (JSMB), or the garden restaurant on the top floor of the JSMB - visit the church history museum to the west, to learn about early church history, and see early church history artifacts. - visit the family history center, staff will help you learn about your family history, and possibly how you relate to famous people. - and more.
