Good place to stay? Maybe a cabin. Its for my husband and I. We want to take a short getaway and visit the caverns for our anniversary.

I really don't believe there is no cabins to rent only hotels

Skyland resorts inside Shenandoah national parks has cabins. I think its 30 mins drive to Luray caves

There was a hotel very nearby, but I don't remember seeing any cabins.

Check airbnb and vrbo listings. We are presently staying in a very nice, private home on a very large property, cost is about the same as a large room or suite at a decent hotel ($150 - $175 per night)

Skyland resort has cabins, and closer to Luray is Jellystone. There are different sized cabins and family friendly.
