Can you float/is it safe or fun to float on something other than a canoe or kayak ( like an intertube, etc ) ?

On the keystone lake that is 2 miles from us it would not be safe/fun to use an inter tube. However I think you maybe looking for silver canoe canoeing and white water rafting near the Delaware river. We are silver canoe campground near Pittsburgh PA. Hope this is helpful.
