It completely depends on the snake and your capability to handle emergency situations. If you are bitten by a non-venomous snake then you have nothing to worry about except for some fright and physical pain. You'll leave with a fun story to tell. If, however, you are bitten by a venomous snake, well, a first aid kit might help if you know what you're doing but a cell phone will help even more. Dial 911, tell them where you are, that you were bitten by a snake and that you think it might be venomous. If you can, capture or kill the snake so the doctors can identify it and get you the proper anti-venom.
Advise for hiking alone. Always be sure someone knows where/what trails you will be on and when you expect to be finished, AND when you've finished. Stay on the trails. Carry a First Aid kit, including items needed for snake bite care, wound care, emergency fire making, emergency blanket and water. And know how to use it all.
If you are traveling alone, are you carrying a safety beacon with you of some kind? Solo Travelers who are looking for something to do that is extraordinary/extreme and extensive of hiking, biking climbing & canoeing/ky-yakking, know to carry-in & carry-out what is needed. Plus having a way to contact for help if something goes wrong & becomes life-threatening, such as a rattlesnakes bite. Knowledge on how to treat and handle something of that nature before you go would be wise as well so that you are prepared and have any supplies necessary!
You are at risk for infection and more.
