Hi, I took pictures with my phone the whole time I just didn't use flash to avoid any problem, I have to say I don't know if that is actually prohibited or not (the use of flash), but what is for sure is that you can take pictures.

Yes. However, most exhibits prohibit the use of flash.

You are able to take pictures with a cell phone and i saw other people taking photos with larger cameras.

Yes, you can use DSLR during your visit to the field museum, however you cannot use flash photography in certain exhibits.
