If one is coming down the west side by subway, where is the cloesst street to cross the highway to West St. Is it Chambers or some other street?

You're all correct! If you are coming down the west side from uptown, you'll want to take the 123 line to Franklin St (which lets out on the north end at Hubert St), or the ACE line to Canal St. If you're coming from NJ then you'll want to take the Path to the WTC and walk northbound. There's really no "wrong way" so long as you end up at City Vineyard with a glass of wine in hand! :-)

The closest subway station would be the Franklin St stop on the 1 train. When you exit the station, take North Moore St all the way to West St and you'll see the Pier 26 sign and City Vineyard across the street.

No take the path to wtc and exit wtc on Brookfield pl exit/west st walk straight up the block until u see the signs pier 25 and 26
