Jim's Steaks on South Street is the go to for tourists. You can walk there from Delaware Ave. Not too far from center city. If the line is too long at Jims go to Ishkabibbles. More of the locals go there. 2 locations on south street. Go here also if you want french fries with your cheesesteaks. Also try the famous Gremlin drink! Stay away from Pat and Genos. Yuck! Its a tourist trap!

I was just in Philly 2 weeks ago and trying 5 cheesesteak spots. 1st Jim's, 2nd John's Roast Pork...yes they have Cheesesteaks and 3rd Chubby's. Stay away from Gino's they've lost their way.

Different people have different opinions. Most of the known places are all VERY GOOD. Pat's and Geno's are the most known but are not the best. Try Woodrow's on South Street if you're going to Jim's.

Jim's or Joe's. Both quality choices but in different parts of Philly.
