We don't require reservations; however having one does assure that you have a table during busy days

I have always had reservations. But I am sure you be fine going early and not on special event like their wine series dinners.
You should be ok except during special events or really busy times. TBH, I've always made reservations even when it's only my husband and myself, but there's usually several open tables.
