Yes you absolutely can bring you own kayak. Zebra mussels are in a lot of lakes. Its up to you as a responsible boater to wash your boat before and after each body of water you travel to and remove any mussels to avoid spreading this invasive species. However you do have to purchase a permit online with the dupage county DNR. Check out there website and look for permit section.

No they do not allow swimming or kayaking due to zebra mussels invading the water. You can fish however.
