It's a wonderful place for a picnic or an overnight adventure. There are large open spaces to play games or throw a disc or play with your dogs. The river is great for swimming and if you walk up-river or down-river from the swimming areas there is good fishing, also. My mother and her friends used to have a mother-son camping trip there every summer when I was a kid. I have a lot of wonderful memories there.
Thereslow and deep areas my kids range from 3-11 and had a blast!
Both, we took the kids last week for just the day. They went swimming and fishing. They said the water was a little high, but our 5 kids range from 7-11 and they did fine. It was super quite and very clean. Wear river shoes if your going in the water there is some glass and the rocks hurt to walk on.
