Tyger River Tyger River is a stream in the U.S. state of South Carolina.[1] The lower part of the river forms part of the border between Union County and Newberry County. The mouth of the river, where it joins the Broad River is the tripoint for Union, Newberry, and Fairfield Counties. The Tyger River was named for its "tiger-like" current, according to local history.[2]
