Try Watauga Lake at old Butler.I have heard that they have dive adventures in the area.
There are signs everywhere no swimming. Too many people have died in the pool due to whirlpool type current under falls.

Completely understand. Not looking for anything like that. Does anyone know of any other nice popular pools to dive or snorkel?

I'm not sure on how deep the water is. But it's a 50-foot strong waterfall that people do swim in it's pool. The pool can get a little bit shallow during the summer months. And this phone is not to be taken granted of. People are careless around here hand in 2018 there's been another two deaths recorded. The trail is so short it's only a hop and Skip and jump away from the parking lot. So mainly you'll invest I'm driving there even if you can't snorkel it's still worth seeing.
