Hi. Is there perhaps a bus service ( or other) from DC that can take there or close by and then back to DC again? How long is the journey? Also what would be the cost?

What you can do is take the Fairfax County Connenctor 981 or 983 from Wiehle Reston East Metro Station on the silver line. You can catch the silver line from DC. The bus is 2$ flat fare, but with the metro fare, go to wmata.com and then go to the trip planner to look for the fare.
