I'm so sorry for your struggles. Few employees know construction. I had a friend put in an application for Home Depot and I told him to make a list of all the do-it-yourself videos on YouTube and give the link to their customer. I said just about every customer would come through the doors looking for you. These big stores could put up video monitors around the store so customers could look it up online and get to the YouTube videos that they need to complete the job they came to Home Depot to do
Yeah it's tough...used to be a guy named "Al" in hardware/tools....he knew EVERYTHING!!! Wonder if he is still there? I haven't seen him in a long time.
I think that alot of these issues stem from not asking the right store associate, you'll find that most all department heads are very knowledgeable and usually steer you in the right direction, and you can always just go to the pro-desk for help.
I've experienced this as a customer here, except the paint area, they were helpful. I wanted some copper wire and they were so clueless. Said they didnt carry it, too. They do.
