the city didn't buy it the conservation district did. I happened to run into them while I stopped out on the right side of the gate though and they answered me very professionally. this is what they said. as of right now it is not open to the public for fishing. they said they have some stuff that theyre doing back there so that it would be more than just a fishing spot. if you are back there it is trespassing as of right now. take heed to the warning and just respect their wishes because theyre doing a lot for the springfield community by adding more nature trails and fishing spots.

It's free fishing right now we fish and respect that it's free and clean up any trash where we fish .. You can not drive in so halling all your stuff to the back lake is alot lol but nice to sit and fish with my child and boyfriend .. It's not easy to catch anything tho but there is fish everywhere always jumping

We were there yesterday and it was being mowed but not open. All signs were down and driveway blocked.
