Meanwhile, you 2 need to have your driver's license and a certified copy of the child's birth certificate then they will let you change the name depending on time contraints. File for legitimation the final order will grant all the stuff faster if the mother is giving consent make sure you requested name change add to bc even custody is addressed takes about 31 days

You would need to go to juvenile court to have your child legitimize and at time they will ask you do you want to place the child in your last name.
