I would describe it as a great place to study or work. Every time I'm there it's busy but definitely not loud like the chain coffee shops. The acoustics are much better so people's conversations don't carry.
I think its a little too busy to study in, i would be distracted but i guess it would depend on the individual. If you have headphones and not easily distracted you might be okay.
