John Day Fossil Beds National Monument - All questions

Address: 32651 OR-19, Kimberly, OR 97848, USA

Nope, free admission

All three of the monuments; Sheep Rock, Clarno, and the Painted Hills are free. I'd recommend visiting the Thomas Condon Paleontology Center first, if you're coming from the east. It has some excellent interpretive exhibits that will help you understand the diverse geology and history of our region before you embark on your journey through the area. The Painted Hills are best at sunset, and are only 9 miles from Mitchell. Have fun!
