All previous answers are correct, but if you are NOT travelling with a vehicle, you might be able to transfer to a Wilmington bound train at a station BEFORE you get to Lorton. I don't know which one that could be so do check the schedules. But UBER and Lyft do make a lot of things possible, like riding between stations from Lorton to King Street, etc.
Auto train only goes to Lorton VA you have to be traveling with an auto or motorcycle to use the service then drive. If you are traveling without an auto you will need to depart from another station. See Amtrak web site for station details and times.
You can only go to Lorton, VA from the Sanford station.
If u are putting car on train. U have to get off in lorton virg. And then drive to delaware
