If you set up an account you will need your email and password to get back to it but you just show the driver the QR code from your phone.

You'll get an email with a QR code that is your boarding pass as well as a receipt.

You can purchase tickets online and at the Port Authority but the tickets at the Port Authority are a little more expensive
