You have to prove that you are homeless like staying in a shelter. Then you go to the beacon and get assessed. If approved you will be placed on a waiting list. Then you can go to search to get in their case management program to assist with housing. Everyone case is different and you must qualify. It is faster if you are in a shelter also. It took me a year before I received housing after being homeless for four years....

When I spoke to SEARCH on Thursday, they told me to go through The Beacon for housing. SEARCH helps with Gold Card, Food Stamps, and Mental Health. Yes it is better if you are in a shelter but it is still that waiting procesa that is the problem yes search will give you a refurrel for the beacon to be accesest but then you will be able to the beacon for help and search for help with appointment
