The salvation army and Star of hope have separate centers for women and children away from the mens centers. You may want to check with them first. There's a place in downtown Houston near Minute Maid Park that can give you all the information about emergency housing for women and children in Houston but I don't remember the name of the place. You can also go to The Beacon and they will wash your clothes and give you a hot lunch. They can provide you with information on emergency housing so that you and your family don't spend a night on the streets at all.
