Their fb post said until further notice due to the drought said no recreational water usage we showed up the day they posted it was closed on their fb with 3 different groups of kids who were so sad and we drove from canton so waste of high priced gas at that
It may not mean much but I can tell you this.....It was a very, very, heavy hearted decision that the city officials made on this one. With the drought in place the 5 wells that provide water to town are running low, the city protocol is to conserve as much as possible for our citizens to keep water going to their houses. The splash pad along with ANY city use of water IE: watering grass, plants, washing police vehicles, fire vehicles, watering baseball fields, etc has been suspended. We are hoping for some good rain to bring the levels back up, but until then the city will conserve as much water possible to keep the flow going for the citizens and businesses.
Wow thats so sad.There’s so many kids probably heartbroken right now !hopefully we can get it up and running again soon it’s so darn hot out here .
