Depends on the position but there is also an incredible group of volunteers whose compensation is the service they bring to other patrons of the library.
As Mike said. The library does welcome and employ volunteers, but employees are paid.
People who are employed by the library in an official capacity are typically paid either by the hour or are salaried.
