Hello Gentlemen- Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this question. A diagnostic charge is only applied when the recommended repairs are declined by the customer. Diagnosis is included when repairs are completed. This would be no different than having a test run at your doctor’s office. The doctor, the lab technician, the nurse, the receptionist, and even the janitor spent their time to make it possible for the test you requested to determine a diagnosis. At the dealership it’s the same process. Our staff is entitled to compensation for their time, their tools, and their knowledge to provide you with a diagnosis. Lastly, the business owner is responsible for staffing and maintaining a facility that serves all customers. I hope my answer helps everyone understand the question at hand. Thank you again for the opportunity to provide this information.

I have never heard of charging for a diagnosis , normally if there is charge is applied to cost of the item.
