In healthcare, pediatric patients are those who are one day old and up to 21 years of age. The age that one is legally considered an adult (18) does not prevent them from being seen at Valley Children's as long as they are 21 years of age or younger.

In the Emergency Department there is no age limit to be evaluated, however, if there a medical emergency that requires more thorough treatment, they will transfer you to an adult facility.
It is a fully equipped hospital. My daughter was hospitalized and amidst our stay I became severely ill. They treated me at the age of 26.
