Yes, you need a title if the car is a 2011 or newer. You can mail an application for duplicate and have it expedited if need be. https://dmvnv.com/title.htm If the car is 2010 or older, you can sell it with an application for duplicate and a Bill of Sale. Both of these assume you don't have a lien on the car. If you do, you have to satisfy the loan or lease.

To a private buyer, you would need the title. If your selling to a junk yard your safest bet would be to call the yard themselves and ask. To duplicate, you would need to set an appointment online to go down and get a new one. Or try and walk-in, though they are only doing walkins on saturday so be prepared to get there early.
