I have an artificial knee. This afternoon I stepped on a rusty nail that went through the sole of my shoe and pierced my foot. I have had a Tetanus shot a couple of years ago. Should I be on antibiotics as a precaution for the knee?

The vaccine called Tdap also helps protect against tetanus, diphtheria, and whooping cough. CDC recommends that all preteens and teens get a Tdap vaccine, preferably at 11 or 12 years old. Adults need to get a Td booster shot every 10 years to stay protected. This vaccine protects againsttetanus and diphtheria.

No one can answer or give medical advice. If you have a primary call them first, if not, it is up to you if you feel the need to come. They will be happy to help you :)
