No Clue
From my experience, I've noticed that the term manager is used very loosely at some places, Walmart being one. At the risk of sounding condescending (which I definatly am not, and no disrespect to customer service employees) , I'll share my view. I don't think the term is used to denote a person's experience or skills but rather a chain of command or a pecking order. I know for a fact I've been told I was talking to a manager when the person was not. They weren't able to modify an incorrect price and had to get another person (presumably higher on the totem pole but still not necessarily management material) to enter a password. But in all fairness, this ia something I've come to except in the interest of convenience and saving money. It's a shame, but I take a deep breath and move on to bigger and better issues. I share in your frustration, but I hope the rest of your Easter went well.
