If your car is front wheel drive, all 4 tires are recommended. Because they do an all wheel alignment. Only other reason would be you NEED all 4 tires replaced.

I agree with Erin. I did only 2 on my VW Passat about 3 months ago, no problem.

I am not sure. I know with all wheel drive vehicles you shouldn't do only two tires. But for a non-awd vehicle, I don't understand why not. I know its recommended to do all 4 tires. However sometimes only 2 need to be replaced. When only replacing two tires it's best to put the new ones in the rear to prevent hydroplaning. I've only done two tires in the past myself. I'm surprised they didn't have an explanation for you.
